Hello and welcome to HOMEMAYD by Noella May. I am a creative writer and journalist. I began baking and cooking as a child in Canada alongside my mother and father. Both of my parents have always baked and cooked from scratch. Is there any other way? I use several old family recipes that I have updated; in addition to several recipes I have created with the love and help from my husband and daughter.
In my late twenties I met my husband (who is a native Vermonter) while living in Southern California. After having our daughter in 2014, we decided to slow down and move back to his hometown in rural Vermont. Here, I am a local journalist and my love for food has soared with the abundance of local and organic ingredients that surround me. My husband has introduced me to the art of hunting and foraging from our local land; and our daughter, unfortunately, has a peanut and tree nut allergy. She has opened a whole new world to me about food allergens. Therefore, here in my blog you will find that all of my recipes are nut free, from – sweet treats, wild game dishes, information pertaining to food allergens, and lifestyle here in the Vemont countryside.
Thank you for stopping by! I look forward to sharing all the wonderful items I create from scratch here in my Vermont farmhouse kitchen!
